They called me and proceeded to read from a script upon hearing my "Hello?" The claim was that I had "recently taken an online survey, in which I indicated I was interested in career opportunities." This is not true--I don't take online surveys, and even if I did, I don't have time for a career. I'm a new mom. I've registered the telephone number they called on with the DNC Registry, so that's strike one.
When I tried to ask a question, I was rudely hung up on. Strike two.
When I called back and told them I wanted a supervisor on the phone, I was hung up on. Stike three.
When I called back again and played along, and politely asked if I could ask a question before we got started, the guy ("Chris") seemed to be open to it. I asked if he was aware that my number was on the DNCR and if he was aware that by calling me, he was breaking the law. "Yes!" *CLICK*
Strike four. Complaint filed.
