called on my cell phone...and I am on the Do Not Call List

Hung up when i answered

Received call on cell phone stating they were from US Government and I had received $9000.00 grant--I was chosen from 15000 people for this grant--she gave me how i could or could not spend money--then asked how i would spend money when received and asked how i wanted to receive it by checking account or debit/VISA card--I asked how she received my cell number--she said it was us government they have everyones number-- I then asked for info to be mailed to my address--she said no it was done this way to save paperwork--she had foreign accent hard to understand but number was shown on my cell id--- she was very insistant on being the government and would not take NO for an answer--I hung up on the caller Privacy & Terms

Would not answer when we pick up.

I missed the phone call and when I tried to call back because I thought it might be my doctors office or a job offer it gave me Verizon Wireless and said that the number has been changed or disconnected or is no longer in service. Just minutes after the call had been made to my phone. I would say it was a scam of sorts. Would like to know how they got my number since I've only had for less than a month. Very aggravating!

It is a telemarketer calling offering money using the USA Federal Government name for scams

A man with a thick accent, clearly not American, claiming to work for the US Dept of Treasury... said his name was Ben Parker and his ID # CB00053. Said I had been randomly selected to receive $9,000 grant money that was being given to 1,500 people nationwide. He said it didn't ever have to be paid back. When I asked for the US Dept of Treasury website, he put me on hold and came back to the phone with this address: www.usgovernment.dept.com

This was foreign voices speaking English telling me I had been chosen to receive a $9000.00 grant from the United States government because I paid my taxes and had no criminal record. They wanted a bank account number to transfer money into or my credit card number and expiration date to transfer the money to.

Man call said he's working for FBI and wanted to talk to me
