This number belongs to Direct TV Sales and Accounts. Every time I have received a call from this number I was conned into taking a added package to my Direct TV service, most of the time it was a good deal however I have my account marked as invoice pay only, and Direct TV uses these great added packages with the condition you must become auto pay, Of course when I speak with the sales person they avoid telling me that it requires me switching to auto pay. After they sell the package to me they very quickly go threw at the very end of the call all the new things I am getting on such a great deal because I am such a good customer and they "will mark my account to show the new package activate the service right away along with the required auto pay."
Legally, no company can require a customer to use one type of payment over another, but Direct TV tries every trick in the book to make all their customers auto pay. Do yourself a favor and search the internet for "Direct TV"+"lawsuits"+"charging"+"credit card" and you will also see what I did, Direct TV is well known for over charging their customers using autopay and refusing to charge back any mistake they "accidentally" made, according to them "we have no way to put a charge back onto your card!" I can assure everyone they do have a way to charge back to your card because I made them do it to mine with the threat of suing them if they didn't, but they stick to their story and then tell them you are done with them and you are making a call to the Attorney General of your state to file a complaint. Then some how they discover a way to charge back the over charge they made, likely because 41 of the states currently have pending Direct TV customer payback and an additional restitution for the Direct TV customers who make the complaint to their Attorney Generals. In my state it is the original mistake they made plus $800.00 for the restitution on the class action ruling in those states. All you have to do to collect is call and file a complaint with your Attorney General.
Direct TV has tried 18 times to offer me some great deal in exchange of being such a good customer and switching to auto pay.
I think everyone who gets Direct TV should insist on invoice pay only then make sure they don't get con-ed into becoming auto pay, because of their constant attempt to get me to switch to auto pay, I am convinced Direct TV knows they do this over charging and tries to do it to all of their customers.
If your thinking of getting Direct TV do yourself a favor and insist on invoice pay only then be careful they don't con you into auto pay by always asking them if the offer requires switching to auto pay, and you will see I am right.
Direct TV really has a great con going and they must be stopped.
Just think of it this way, Direct TV says they have 72 million customers, and if they only overcharged all of them by one dollar they would be sitting on a surplus of 72 million dollars that they can get interest on, because they refuse to refund any over charges, they don't take your money, they do put it on your account, but they are also making one hell of a lot of interest off all the over charges they make.
When a class action suit starts for making Direct TV responsible for their "mistakes" My name will be the first on the list.
