This number called me. Said they were with a process server. I called a legal collections assistance company - said the company is a scam. They give you a number and a case number to call. All sounds legit. But nothing came up when searched for company, and the law firm they said they are is closed permanently. Trying to collect a very old debt. Threaten its 3 times more than original amount. Going to place a lien. Said they were on their way. To serve notice. Said they were IPS - independent Service Processors. - could not find Law firm they said they represent - Cumberland & Associates - is closed permanently.

Someone pretending to be an SDG&E representative called on my husbands cell phone saying we are two months behind on our utility payments and they are going to shut off our utilities. We have automatic payments and we are not behind on anything additionally my husbands phone is not associated with our account. They wanted him to take cash to a location for paymentwill not accept checks. My husband gave me the phone and they hung up. Absolutely a scam. The male who called had a slight East Indian accent.
