I got the same message "debit card had been restricted and wouldn't be able to make online purchases. I should press 1 and speak to the security department to get it removed." Checked my accts. none would have any reason to restrict my card.

Just received a call from this number. Didn't recognize it so I didn't answer. Sounds like a phony number to me.

The message left on my cell phone (a Do Not Call number) instructed me to call the security department at the number above or press "1" to be transferred to the security department. No company name was provided.

Got a message tonight but didn't call it back because I was suspicious -- thankful for the people who commented here.

called my cell 715-617-3409 @ approx. 3pm sunday 4-21-13 automated message told me my debit card had been cancelled and to hold on for security dept.

Claimed to be Citi Bank and said that card had been restricted to POS and ATM use only, Press 1 for Rep.

Computer voice claimed my American Express card was restricted for online use. Said enter 1 for security dept. I don't have an American Express card.

Received a call from (973)-448-2000 about 5:15 this afternoon. Caller claimed to be from American Express to advise me that I could not use my card for online purchases and to press 1 if I wanted to talk to AMEX Fraud Department. I did press 1 and call disconnected. I tried calling back the number; automated voice responded that I had reached Roxbury, NJ gov't offices that were closed for the day. One option was to leave a message for a callback which I have done. Called American Express and spoke with Customer Service Rep who advised that there were no restrictions of my card. Customer Service advice that they will file a report with their Fraud Department. Further online Google searches showed that this could be a telemarketing scam number, but at the same time confirmed it was the number for Roxbury, NJ, switchboard.
