Earlier this week, we proudly announced the winner of the second Spokeo Connections Scholarship and are already accepting entries for the third contest. Beyond providing our own bi-annual scholarship essay contest, we’re now excited to announce that we’re also helping connect college students to other resources that can help ease the pain of financing higher education.
According to SavingforCollege.com, the average cost of 4-year tuition and fees for college ranges from $38,300 for an in-state resident at a public university, to $74,700 for two years at a community college/two years at a private college, and capping out at $129,700 for a private education. Even the loyal parents who saved their pennies from the first day they confirmed a pregnancy need a little help footing those kinds of bills. Good thing there are MANY scholarships out there to help them out. Unfortunately, navigating the world of scholarships can be harder than college application process itself!
Debt.org estimates that $3.3 billion are awarded in gift aid by private sources in the US. We’re here to help you get your hands on a piece of that pie.
Spokeo has provided a listing of 50 top scholarships that are widely available to most undergrads and high school seniors in the US. Often, scholarships are awarded according to field of study, or gender, or any other random thing (left-handed, twins… you get it), but our listing makes it easy for almost anyone who needs help as an undergrad to apply for a gift. Scholarship listings range from $500 (with an iPad mini!) to $10,000.
The list is ranked according to application deadline and some are coming up soon, so be sure to take a look and start crossing expenses off of your college list. The list will be updated regularly (check back often) and also includes additional scholarship safety tips and resources.
We wish you the best of luck with your applications and want to hear from you! Share your education and scholarship successes with us using the hashtag #SpokeoScholarship.
