I had a fraud alert that was legit because I did speak with my actual bank about it. But i do get notifications as well and it looked just like the ones my bank sends me. So I replied N for no and it sent back this number for the fraud department definitely wasnt my banks fraud department I hung up and called my bank immediately and resolved the issue. Beware !!! This number is a scammer trying to access your account !!!!!

Scammer. I got a call from this unknown number using my credit union's name and that they were calling about my Visa for a security check. Since I had just made a $400 online purchase with a company I haven't done business with before, in the last hour, I thought maybe they were calling to make sure it wasn't a fraudulent charge. Since I have my credit union's 800 number saved in my phone, I called that instead and asked if there were any issues on either of my Visa cards. There weren't. If you get a call from this number beware it's a phishing scam.

I got a voice message today from someone claiming to be from my credit union, regarding a "case number" and to call back. Two things I check off on a mental list is: the number isn't for my credit union and the person is speaking in a thick foreign accent. They can pretty much continue to wipe their butt with their left hand and eat **** for all I care. Plus it's a bank holiday. Stupid scammers.

I actually received a letter saying my phone number is no longer valid and they have not been able to contact me about my account activity. In order to protect against unauthorized use I may not be able to use my card until I contact a Fraud Detection Agent at that number. 888-918-7313. This was for my credit union account, the top of the letter had key words to the CU name and it had the last 4 digits of my account number! I did call my credit union and alert them.

I received a call from this number stating they were my credit union and said they wanted to confirm my charges. They asked for a case # and I said I don't have it. She said ok give me the last 4 digits of your social and I said no, how do I know this is my credit union? She said you're welcome to call the number on the back of your card. Of course they are closed right now so I think I'll be smart and wait until tomorrow to call because nothing looks suspicious on my online acct. Hackers for sure.

Obviously this is related to some type of leak/hack of credit union members since they are the target of these calls and have some basic information. Call your lender directly if you have any concerns. Dont call this number. Ask your credit union how they got your name(s) and knew that you had account there. They should be savvy enough to tell you how/when the breach was. Your credit union might even offer you credit monitoring or protection if they have robust programs and services.

A male call me saying is from Fairwinds Credit union to verify a case that I have. SCAM. Be careful.

Tried telling me my card was credit card was locked.. It is not. They wanted me to call back and give my #s to them.. Never going to happen! DON'T ANSWER THIS #

I work at a credit union and this is indeed a valid phone # for the fraud area for a number of credit unions. If you Google the number, you do see reference to some financial institution publishing this number. The company employees are technically not employees of the credit union but are a hired third party to handle fraud disputes. Having said that, there are many cases of call fraud that happens when people "spoof" a phone number, so you could potentially get a fraudulent call from a number that is generally a valid number.

My bank verified today this IS a PHISHING/Scam call. We got a message, sounded very convincing but let it go to voice mail since it only showed up as a toll free # and 888/918-7313..No company name. I decided to verify with my sons bank about it before he called anyone. Guess what, wasn't his bank at who called!! I also checked this #, I googled it... there are more than 14 different banking entities from all over the country that have this same # that shows up as a supposed legitimate place to call in about their credit card fraud... *** Since when do WAY more than 14 different banking entities use the same number about fraud on a credit card? Not going to happen IF you think about it. I blocked it. Bank told me that these thieves buy people's names and tel#'s in the hopes they can scare you into calling them back and giving up any & all info they ask of you. BEWARE!!!

female said to call this number as soon as possible - couldn't understand everything she said - just something about a credit card charge - she used both my name and my husband's name and gave me a case # - I will NOT call back - highly suspicious that this call is made on Thanksgiving day.

I think this is a fraud attempt. Called stating problem with my account and gave a case number. Unfortunately, confirming this with my credit union required an ungodly hold time. So its the scammers vs crap customer service.
